Mung beans or 'moong' are type of small, green legume primarily produced for sprouting, although it is also used as whole beans for making soup dishes, added to stir-fries, dumplings, pancakes and dehulled whole mung beans are subject to grinding to make flour.
This beans are a high source of nutrients, including manganese, potassium, magnesium, folate, copper, zinc and various B vitamins. Mung bean, as well as legumes in general, contains virtually no fat and has a remarkable fiber content.
