Taro stolon, also known as 'kochur loti' in Bangladesh, is a common item in Bengali cuisine. Several exotic Bengali dishes are made with this scrumptious vegetable. One of the most common dishes is kochur loti with narikel and shorshe, a strongly flavored curry made with taro stolon, coconut and mustard paste.
Stolon curries are also cooked with shrimp and different types of fish such as rohu and hilsha.
